Calling all gardeners — the City of Hamilton is launching another round of compost giveaway events this spring.
Generated through curbside collection of leaf and yard waste, the organic material is suitable for lawns, gardens and plants. Yard waste gathered throughout the year is converted into nutrient-rich compost at the city’s outdoor composting facility.
Hamiltonians are invited to bring their own pails, shovels and elbow grease to one of three upcoming events. The compost is free — while supplies last — but you can make an optional monetary donation to the United Way. Compost is intended for residential use only.
