Compost giveaway starts tomorrow

The first two of the City of Hamilton’s popular compost giveaways begin at Turner Park and Joe Sam’s Park from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 27.

Calling all gardeners — the City of Hamilton is launching another round of compost giveaway events this spring.

Generated through curbside collection of leaf and yard waste, the organic material is suitable for lawns, gardens and plants. Yard waste gathered throughout the year is converted into nutrient-rich compost at the city’s outdoor composting facility.
